For those of us who are into guns and haven't been living under a rock for the last 3 or so decades, the Glock name has become a household name in the shooting world. People who have never handled a gun (let alone handled a gun) recognize the name. It is estimated that 65% of US police agencies use some form of Glock or another. It's time to take an in-depth look at everything you need to know about the Glock 9mm and its various models. We will see:

Glock Generations Explained

Glock Generations Explained

The story of the Glock is quite remarkable, since the man who installed the gun knew next to nothing about pistol design. Gaston Glock sold screen sticks and knives to the Austrian army, and was known for cutting needles. His team developed the Model 17 pistol to help Austrian soldiers in need of a new sidearm, and the story of the raid was born. Interestingly, the "17" signifies the 17th patent issued to the famous corporation, and these numbering patterns continue to this day.

Shooters tend to be either glock fans or detractors - not a lot of crap out there. I am one of those rare birds who are in the middle with my opinion of Gaston's underground. I've had a model 30 .45 ACP for a long time and later bought a barrel for it so I could shoot my hands. He did well without showing off too much. Gun's eye was not small. I called out Glocks in another Chevy Impala chapter I wrote about the pistol industry. The Impala is a good, mid-priced car that's a popular choice among car buyers - reliable and well-designed without being too flashy.

The Glock, like the Impala, gets the job done in a utility way. He does it without costing an arm and a leg. they tend to be the most reliable. All these institutions capitalize on the Glock purchasing system as a great testament to this.

Narrowing things down, take a look at Glock's best sellers. In qualitative terms, the 9mm rules the glock cube. And, of the more than fifty pistol models that Glock sells, the best selling model is the 19 in 9mm. This compact pistol packs 15+ 1 rounds into a compact package. I know many people who carry this model, it seems to strike a middle ground between concealable size and capacity. Now if that's not your thing, you have 19 other great 9mm Glock models to choose from.

I've put together a chart comparing the dimensions of popular models as well as an extended version with all twenty compared, for all shooters are listed in detail there. In fact, some of these models are extremely rare in gun shops that serve a very specific purpose (for example, long-range competition, which is what the Model 34 specializes in). So before we note all the numbers on the cards, let's take a closer look at the Glock 9mms.

This is an abbreviated list. Are you a number person? This is an expanded version of all 9mm Glocks available and click on the title to view them (Tablet is best viewed on PC or Beam);

Now let's look at each example, but first we need to explain a little. If you look at the table above, you will see MOS and FS listed after some models. MOS stands for Modular Optical System. Glock changed the frame on these guns, the front sight of the rear end to accept a red dot or mounting plate. This fills in when not in use.

Glock Generations Explained

FS means the gun includes a front sight (slide). Those FS-branded pistols have serrations at the front of the slide to aid in slide control, and standard serrations at the rear. Many shooters have asked Glock to include front sights on all of their newer guns. So far only those guns have been used which are labeled FS.

A generational Glock explanation is in order if we want to keep this article as useful as possible for those of you who are considering purchasing a Glock. "Generation" in Glock terminology is similar to other companies coming out with "Mod 2", "2.0" etc. It determines the major modification of the features in their guns. Feature changes (commonly called upgrades) can be several minor ones, a few significant "major" changes, or a combination of both to qualify for the next generation. Here we go, from the original Glock (now Gen1) through the latest generation as of this writing, Gen5.

This is an original, bare-bones example of a Glock 17. We can identify this gun by the lack of stitching or writing on the body and no finger grooves. This is the Glock that placed the first order of 25,000 pistols with the Austrian military in 1983. Here is a unique ring: In addition to the Model 17 pistols sold to the military were the Model 18s - the 17s model with an optional trigger. ignites the power between 1100-1300 RPM. Glock has also released an improved version of this gun (model 18C). This was technically a pistol and therefore subject to the regulations and taxes imposed on gun ownership as people who tried to buy it were caught.

The Model 22 RTF2 (.40 S&W) was given a rough, textured finish with a gilded slide and a new checkering around the grip in 2009. Other models that got the RTF2 treatment include the 31, 32, 23, 21 and 19 although not all were gold plated.

Starting with the model 17, we see a full-size board with a longer barrel than the smaller models. This gun is the first Glock to be shipped. This is mainly due to the adoption by the Austrian army and some police units from 1982. I remember when the gun came out the first "plastic pistol" around the world (H&K VP70 technically the first polymer pistol, introduced in 1970. German. market).

What's The Difference Between Glock Pistols?

All gunsmiths worked to ensure that this "plastic gun" could not be seen by an airport metal detector, and some in the shooting community thought the gun would fail because of concerns they had about the reliability of the gun's mechanism. and there was nothing to worry about - it didn't happen. But the reliability and innovation of the pistol made it popular not only with military and police standards, but also with civilians. The gun has, on average, only 35 parts... talk about convenience! My brother has a Gen 4 Model 17 that he loves. I gave a joke and printed it. Because of the size, the 17 concealed carry is not designed. It is most at home in the holster of a level 3 police officer, or in a military craft in the military leg of SOE.

Model 17 comes in the Genesis 3, 4 and 5 versions: so if you want a striped finger (or not), you're in luck - just buy the generation you want. Don't need a combat gun? Take a Gen4 or Gen5 MOS and put a red dot on it. Want an all-around shooter? Get the Gen3 and save money (if you can still get it). Model 17, as mentioned above, started it all.

Ok... now let's look at the 9mm diameter. Since they make Glock's best sellers, the Model 19 has its share of enthusiast users. Also, let's not forget the aftermarket parts industry. The Model 19 probably has more third-party parts available than any other Glock. That said, the Model 19 is perfect for IWB- or OWB concealed carry with a 4-inch barrel, narrow quarter-inch width, and 15-round magazine. As I wrote before, this pistol is the benchmark against which compact 9mms are judged.

Glock Generations Explained

I know several people who wear the model 19 and love it. It's no coincidence that Glock wanted to release the model 17 and 19 first in their Gen5 configuration. The 17, with its legal following, and the Model 19, became the best selling Glock.

Glock Gen 3, 4, Or 5: What Generation Is Right For Me? (video) :: Guns.com

The Gen5 19 model is generally accepted. The only complaint I've heard about the Gen5 model 19 has to do with the front lower limb. Some shooters say they hurt their hands, as mentioned, where the heel of the hand and palm meet in the frame. They say sharp edges are the culprit. This does not seem to be the case with the Model 17 due to the long grip of the body. Fortunately, this problem is also addressed in the new model 45 (below).

As with the model 17, many variations are available

Glock Gen X - On January 2, 2018, at exactly 9:00 AM ET, Glock announced its latest arrival, the Glock 19X. And since his deliberation was on the 22nd of the same month, we have seen many different opinions. Before we get into the Glock 19X compared to the Glock 19 Gen 5, it is important to understand why the 19X was designed.

The G19X pistol is the commercial version of the Glock MHS, which meets the ratings of the US Army's Modular Handgun System. In other words, the contract model was developed by the US Army Competition, which Glock almost won. The only difference between the commercial and military versions is that the G19X does not have a manual thumb drive.

On January 2, 2018, at exactly 9:00 AM ET, Glock announced its latest arrival, the Glock 19X. And because its publication on the 22nd of the same month saw many different comments.

Aiwb Glock 19x G19 Gen 5 Olight Pl2 Valkyrie In Multicam Black

The G19X comes in the standard Glock case, but in a different tan color that Glock says is called Coyote. This handgun comes with a standard 17-round magazine and two 19-round extended magazines. It also comes with four additional backstraps that you can add to the standard handle, which is minimal. It comes with a loaded magazine, brush board, cleaning rod, and owner's manual. Standard components in the Glock box.

The overall design hasn't really changed from the original Glock design, but there are some notable changes. For the most part, the G19X has a somewhat odd design, with a G19-length slide and a G17-length body, and of course it has a desert brown (coyote) color. Similar to a more compact version of the Colt Duke.

Outside of slide length, the G19X and G19-5 share several other similarities. Both feature dual recoil springs and barrels called the Glock Marksman Barrel, or GMB for short, which Glock says offer increased accuracy with a better barrel crown and increased polygonal alignment. Both have identical trigger weights, ambidextrous sliders, nearly identical internals, and both lack the fingerprint notch, a significant improvement over the 4s generation.

The G19X comes with an nPVD film, which looks and feels much better than Melonite's black nDLC coating. Where the G19X really differs from the G19-5 and other 5th generation handguns is its body. It doesn't have a fired magazine that hits the G19-5, and it also adds a unique handle that was specified by the military when Glock competed for the MHS contract. If you don't have a belt loop, you can remove it. The magazine well is even better than the G19-5, and the magazine of the G19-5 does not fit the G19X due to the lack of an extra section and firing on the edge of the magazine.

Blueguns Glock 17 Gen 4 Training Gun

When it comes to making them with the G19X. The Copa 17+1 magazine grip frame gives you plenty of room for a grip that fills your hands well. Those with large hands will find the G19X model to be a better tool for the gun, allowing for a more comfortable grip. This overall improves balance, control and thus better accuracy than the G19-5.

Why most people have problems with the G19X is because of the extra half inch bezel. It's a little difficult to make it work as a concealed carry weapon, but remember the G19X is intended for war. Even in this environment, outside of the 2nd round talent, luxury is not to be missed.

In the end, it all depends on you. The Glock 19X is a very solid piece of hardware, and your decision to buy it depends on what you intend to use it for. If you're going to throw several miles around four to five times a week, this is a great option. It is also a reliable part if you want to use it to protect your home. Or maybe you just want to add to your gun collection! If you are looking for a concealed carry gun, the G19 Gen 5 will be a better fit. Conversely, the G19X's shorter slide can be perfect for an appendix carry option.

The nPVD slip joint prevents corrosion, resists chemicals and resists the elements. The nPVD finish is exclusive to the Glock model.

The ambidextrous slide bar position makes it easier for gun owners to quickly, safely and comfortably manipulate the slide, whether left or right-handed.

The proven Gen4 surface rough texture is also available on the G frame. It is designed to increase the distance in the hand without being aggressive. Removing finger grooves makes it more comfortable for passengers.

The extended G-frame is turned and the magazine clip is turned and extended toward the rear of the pistol. With a large, smooth round surface, these grips are more user-friendly for shooters and allow the grip to be transferred to the left or right side of the pistol.

The G comes with a beavertail strap in two sizes. The back frame allows users to adjust the circumference of the handle to fit the size of the hand.

G comes with one standard magazine (17 rds) and two extended magazines (17+2 rds) in coyote color. Other high storage facilities are available.

Glock G19 Gen5, G19x, G45 9mm Barrel, 4.02\

I just picked up this girl the other day. He took it out for examination. And the best results I've had in a long time. This is my first glove. I have several other guns. That is nothing compared to this gift. It is very true. There is a decline. And if you're wearing average gloves. It fits perfectly. I'm 6'3 270 and wish I had bought glocks before instead of smith and wesson (no offense).

Love the gun. He shot well. Converted this gun into a Gen4 Glock 23. Only complaint is the low flare. This makes it very difficult to remove the magazine when there is a malfunction. I understand why they did it but they disagree. An easy fix would be to change the bottom of the magazine to hold it. Tips Hint Glock

I understand and cannot make peace with the Sig P320. But I love the Glock 45. The grip allows me to get a perfect grip on the non-controlling hand and the low reach means short flipping. No lower and lower!

Best Glock I have ever bought. Only a few Glock Store parts have made it better. The joystick, trigger, black Ice connector and extension cord are now ready for me. Thank you Glock Shop

Very nice! I have shot 100 rounds through it so far and it looks and shoots great. Fast, smooth, and accurate.

The Glock 43X is one of the most popular concealed carry pistols on the market. Many people also use it for home security due to its ergonomics and convenient size. Since most people will be using this gun in a defensive role, you will carry it in a Glock 43X concealed carry holster. There are many ways you can carry this gun, and each carry position requires a holster optimized for that carry position to provide the best user experience. We'll cover the various carry positions and how to choose the right holster for that carry position.

Glock 43x Mos W/ Rail W/ Tlr 6 Owb Holster Quick Draw

Most people will use a Glock 43X IWB holster on the rear attachment or strong side, although some may take a small portion of the back. I recommend going with an attachment carry, meaning a front carry or a strong side carry, which is on the hip or back rather than the small of the back.

The reason you don't want to buy a small back is because it can cause long-term back problems. When you lift the small of your back, it places the gun next to the spine, so if you fall and slip, it can cause a devastating back injury. Carrying a small gun off your back during the day can slowly wear on your back and cause long-term problems over time. Because you own a gun to protect your long-term health, you should avoid carrying it in a position that could harm your long-term health. There are specific features you'll want to look for in a Glock 43X IWB holster depending on your carry situation. So below, we'll look at back carry and strong side carry and what to look for in a holster when choosing one for each position.

When attached, the Glock 43X sits in a pocket between your inner thigh and neck. For a more comfortable experience, this entire pocket should be filled. This may be counterintuitive, but the more the pocket is filled, the more evenly the pressure is applied, thus creating pressure in one area causes a hot spot. A hotspot is an area that causes pain or discomfort. At first, this may seem counterintuitive, but you may want to keep your Glock 43X in a Glock 48 length holster. This is because the longer the holster is, the more evenly it spreads the pressure on the pocket. The Glock 43X is not the lightest gun for its size considering that most of the gun's weight sits in the magazine.

Glock 43x Mos Holster

Any gun weighs above the beltline when you add attachments, and it's even more so for guns like the Glock 43X. Especially if you carry the gun with the S-15 magazine shield, which holds an extra five rounds. All of this weight makes the gun head heavy and moves the gun away from the body. It injects a gun into your vagina, creating a hot spot. Having a Glock 48 length holster can help alleviate this. Another feature that helps reduce this is a well-rounded storm. A well-rounded muzzle helps a lot, I see it in a Glock 43X or Glock 48 holster, but a well-rounded muzzle doesn't help as much as having a long holster.

Iwb Holster For Glock 43x Torsion– Bravo Concealment

Considering the gun sits in this pocket, you also want to make sure the bottom part of the trigger is pretty good. Many holster designs have sharp edges in this area and can cut into your thigh. Carrying a gun around all day is not comfortable. Good rounded edges are a must for any accessory carry holster. Another aspect you'll want to consider is ride height. Ride height is important because it affects three different factors: comfort, concealment, and speed. We've already covered comfort related to the pocket, but we'll go deeper. A holster usually attaches to your belt via a belt. This belt sits in a certain position on your waist depending on the pants you are wearing and the shape of your waist. This position of the belt varies from person to person, as the distance from the pocket the holster should naturally sit in a more comfortable position.

If your holster has an adjustable ride height, you can adjust the height of this holster so it sits properly in the pocket. When it comes to concealment, a lower ride height usually means more concealment of the gun. If the grip is closer to the belt, the gun will be more concealed. The opposite is true for ritual speed. The belt is very easy to affect your draw. So the farther the grip is from the grip, the faster you can grab the grip and pull the gun out of the holster. Unfortunately, neither world is perfect, so you'll have to find a compromise that works best for you, but adjustable ride height gives you options. If the holster doesn't have an adjustable ride height, you'll be stuck with how the holster sits, and it'll be less comfortable and won't meet your ride height needs.

A wedge is a device that sits between the back of the holster and the body. It sits under the trunk and helps to remove the trunk from the body. The advantage is that it directs the grip toward the body as the gun moves away from the body. So what we talked about earlier is fighting gravity. This is a very important feature in a gun like the Glock 43X, which is heavier. I definitely recommend using this if you have a Glock 48 holster, but it's even more important if you have a Glock 43X Special holster. A shorter length holster will provide more comfort using a wedge.

A claw or wing is a device that sits on the side of the holster by the trigger guard and uses force from the belt to secure the firearm's hand to the body. It pretty much hides the grip of the gun. Another advantage is that by changing the angle of the grip for concealment, it also improves the angle of the grip so that it meets your hand naturally when you draw the gun. This will speed up your draw a bit on the link. You may or may not notice it, but it takes some time off the clock. It really does make a difference.

Concealment Express Iwb Hybrid Holster

Strong side carry is similar to attachment carry in that you want to make sure you have a well-rounded holster. If you have a nice rear, you'll want to go with a Glock 43X length holster. This is because the extra length of the Glock 48 holster can print through your pants. Whereas, if you have a more shapely back, I recommend going with the Glock 48 length holster because it's more comfortable.

Whether you go with a Glock 43X length holster or a Glock 48 length, I recommend making sure you have a well-rounded muzzle. It is very important to have a well-rounded bust, as this area sits on your back and hangs slightly. Glock 43x Mos Review - The Glock 43X is a reverse version of the Glock pistol. Glock has taken the excellent Glock 43 pistol and increased the grip to accommodate the new 10 magazine. The Glock 43X became a popular concealed carry pistol and opened up a new market for Glock slimline pistols. In the Glock 43x MOS review we explore its various features.

The Glock 43X recently received a welcome addition in the form of the MOS model. The new Glock 43X MOS is hitting shelves right now and could make a big impact.

MOS stands for Modular Optics System. These guns bear the name MOS, but the MOS system of these guns is very different from the MOS system.

Tfb Review: The Glock 48 Mos Pistolthe Firearm Blog

The Glock 43X is a very nice little handgun, so it can't be seen in red. This MOS system corresponds to the Shield RMSc red dot pistol.

It is one of the few red dot guns on the market, and the optic's footprint has quickly become popular.

This opens up the Shield RMSc, SIG ROMEO Zero, Swampfox Sentinel, and Holosun 507k, and some new models hitting the market hard and fast.

That's not the only change Glock has made to the 43X series pistol so let's dive in and check out the Glock 43X MOS and how Glock makes this micro combat pistol a little more capable.

Glock 43x Mos Oem Slide (complete)

Although these new small optics have yet to prove themselves, they are becoming popular. Especially when you pair it with a great Glock 43X MOS holster.

The major change made to the Glock 43X MOS is the change in slide color from stainless steel to the traditional black nDLC finish. The gun came out in black before the MOS series, but the MOS series will be nDLC only.

This diamond-like coating is very strong and has proven durable on most Glock pistols. The level of hardness is very high, and it is doubled from the old tenifer finish.

Glock 43x Mos Review

I can't lie, I love the stainless steel process and I think it makes the plain jane, spartan Glocks stand out a bit, but I understand the change.

Glock 43x Mos With Almost All The Bells And Whistles.

Stainless looks great, but black is less reflective and creates less reflection on the lens of your red dot optic. The black finish gives the gun a nice look and allows it to blend in better under clothing.

The frame is a traditional Glock black polymer frame. It's a bit blocky and white, but looks professional and is precisely designed. The Glock frame is not pretty but it is perfectly designed and made.

The sight of the Glock 43X requires black optics so black on black points goes. Fortunately, black is the most common color in the world of tactical optics. It also matches your shoes.

The Glock 43X MOS is an excellent and lightweight pistol designed with concealed carry in mind. The G43X MOS has a shorter barrel, and this makes it easier to carry OWB and the 43X MOS easier to carry IWB and AIWB (appendix inside the waistband).

Glock 43x Mos Plum

The width is slightly thicker at 1.10 inches, and the slide is .87 inches wide. The gun weighs 23.07 ounces fully loaded. The gun is not the thinnest option, but it is still easy to hide.

The gun is perfectly balanced, and those who want to carry something small and light but still want a full grip will love the Glock G43X MOS.

When you add an optic, the height and overall weight of the gun changes, but not significantly. The modern micro red dot is a small and lightweight design that adds a lot to your gun. The G43X MOS is one of the smallest rifle optics on the market.

Glock 43x Mos Review

The gun comes with a ten round magazine and it cannot take the same magazine as the G43. It cuts out many of the magazine extensions made for the G43. However, a company called Shield Arms makes 15 magazines that are compatible with the G43X MOS and Glock 48.

Best Glock 43x Accessories Of 2022

It adds five rounds of flavor to your Glock series pistol. I don't have personal experience with these magazines, so I can't speak for their reliability, but they are loved by Glock 43X MOS and Glock 48 owners.

The Glock 43X MOS provides a better grip than the original G43. A longer grip makes the hand feel better and allows the gun to easily fit a 10-round magazine. Another big improvement is the little beavertail that gives my hands some protection.

Glocks and I are sometimes at odds because I have been a victim of constant disappointment with the Glock series. The Glock G43X MOS is different and provides a nice little overhang that gives me a better feel and keeps my hand from getting a little too tight.

The Glock 43X MOS is a very simple gun. Glock has a reputation for making guns as simple as possible, and simple is a good thing in a gun designed for combat. The 43X MOS has three safety devices, but not a manual safety.

Glock 43x Vs Glock 48

The only thing close to it is the security of safety, which does not allow reason to fall without success and goal press. This makes things very easy and allows the shooter to engage immediately without thinking too much.

The G43X's hand-crafted design aids recovery and control. The handle allows you to control and hold the gun easily.

It is easier for rapid fire and long days of range training than the standard 43. This is a must have for rifle optics.

Glock 43x Mos Review

A real grip will ensure you hold the dot steady and take advantage of all the benefits the red dot has for you.

Comparing The Glock 43x To The Glock 43: In Depth Analysis

One problem with the gun is the slide lock. With a good, thumb-forward grip, the slide lock is pinned and will not engage when the gun is empty.

This may be a problem related to my sausage-like fingers, but it's a common problem with every Glock I've ever shot, including the G43X (not the MOS version).

The star of the show is clearly the gun's ability to use an optic. A rifle optic may seem silly to some, but it has been proven by reputable instructors around the industry to greatly improve the performance of your rifle.

An integrated rifle is faster, more accurate and allows the shooter to easily hit targets at greater distances. On the G43X MOS, the optic makes sense.

Glock G43x & G48 Mos, Compact Pistols With Red Dots

Small guns usually have a short sight radius and the presence of the problem eliminates the problem of the sight circle. This allows a small gun to be as accurate as a large gun. Learning to use the red dots takes some practice. It is worth the investment in the end.

Glock has also added a small Picatinny rail to its new G43X MOS model. This small picatinny rail allows users to attach any device. This includes lasers, small lights like the Olight Mini Valkyrie, or training devices like the MantisX.

The Picatinny rail is a nice touch, and since red dots and lights are so desirable on a gun, many companies stick with smaller ones on their guns.

Glock 43x Mos Review

The G43X MOS also comes with most of the upgrades that Glock does for Gen 5 guns. It features an improved sight on the magazine, a sleek finger-less design, front serrations and a reversible magazine.

Glock 43x Mos Kydex Gear Holster

The front serrations are an important touch and allow you to easily control the slide when the gun wears a red dot. They are on the gun from the original G43X and more importantly the MOS system.

Front serrations ensure you can control the weapon without holding the optic. You can pull the optic to control the slide but as you do so you will be able to smudge oil on your skin on the glass. A smudge-free optic works well.

The Glock 43X is unusual, and so is the MOS model. The short slide combined with the compact-sized grip makes the gun interesting, to say the least.

The Glock 43X MOS fills the hand well, and the beavertail extension gives the gun a great feel. It allows you to control the big gun and keep it on target while shooting quickly.

Glock 43x Mos Tlr6 Holster

The original 43 would bite the hell out of my hand and I hated it. I start flashing a little with each shot. That's long gone with the Glock 43X MOS.

The iron sights are the same as all Glock iron sights and are made of plastic and type. Throw on the red spot and switch the sight to the higher elevation sight for a quick sight.

Recoil is minimal, especially with 115-grain loads. You are a bit different with self defense load + P loads. This snap is important, but not uncontrollable or painful.

Glock 43x Mos Light - If you need optics for your Glock 43X, I'm here to help. The Modular Optics System, or MOS, version of the G43X has a factory-cut slide that accepts only micro-footprint sized optics using the RMSc-style base. Not all Red Dot Sights (RDS) will fit.

Originally popularized by the Smith & Wesson Shield series, the RMSc grip is now used for a variety of firearms including the SIG SAUER P365 series and Springfield Armory Hellcat optics. Sights are more compact than regular pistol red dot sights and are necessary for slim pistols like the G43X.

I have extensively researched the use of reflex sights on pistols and have tested more than a few options on the market. To help you decide which red dot is best for your needs, here's my list of Glock 43X lenses.

These optics also fit the Glock 48 MOS pistol. While I try to keep the list up to date, I recognize that I might miss a new product launch. So feel free to leave info on anything not listed in the comments section below.

Before going into the details of each lens, here is a comparison table of features and prices for currently available options.

MSRP prices for Shield Sights models are estimates based on an exchange rate and including UK tax.

Riton Optics offers a solidly built mini red dot optic for your Glock slimline pistol. Called the X3 TACTIX MPRD, this scope is made from a 6061-T6 aluminum body and a multi-coated lens. From a durability standpoint, only the Swampfox Sentinel (scroll down) tops it.

Glock 43x Mos Review (with Pictures)

The X3 TACTIX MPRD is a fully manual optic with 10 levels of red dot brightness. Levels one and two support night vision, while the remaining brightness levels support the Mk1 eyeball in a variety of lighting conditions. An auto-off feature kicks in at 12 o'clock.

Riton claims a light transmission rate of 99.5% with its high-density, multi-layer glass. The lens coatings are said to reduce flare, improve clarity in low light and resist scratches.

The company has a simple guarantee: if it fails, send it back and Riton Optics will send you a new one. You don't need to register the product, you don't need any documentation, and you don't even have to be the original purchaser. The company's goal is for all returns to be processed within 48 hours. It would be hard to beat that kind of service.

The suggested retail price at the optics is $299.99. The viewfinder is relatively new, so you have to buy it directly from Riton. When it hits the market, I'm sure we'll see discounts on this program at regular retailers.

Shield Sights is the oldest manufacturer of micro red dots for pistols such as the Glock 43X. Currently, the company offers two basic models: the RMSc and the SMSc.

Built in England, the RMSc uses an aluminum body with a polymer lens to display a red aiming point. Shield Sights does not list the type of aluminum they use for the body.

Shield Sights uses an anti-reflective coating on the lens to reduce glare when aiming your G43X. Polymer lenses are used in many reflective sights and tend to reduce manufacturing costs. However, some people report that the lenses are more susceptible to scratches.

You can buy this vision with a point of 4 MOA or 8 MOA. For me, I prefer the 4 MOA, but the 8 MOA really stands out. For close defensive shots, the larger point isn't a bad choice, so go with what you think will work best for you.

Shield does not identify how many levels of brightness the display can use. Instead, the dot automatically adjusts according to lighting conditions.

Shield offers a 7-year warranty on the RMSc electronics and a lifetime warranty on all other components.

As Shield is an English company, direct purchases from the company require currency conversion from US Dollars to British Pounds. In addition, purchases will incur VAT or Value Added Tax. At the time of this writing, the suggested retail price of the sight is £300 before VAT. After adding currency conversion and VAT, the price is approximately $472.98 plus international shipping.

Another Shield product, this unit has a similar look but also some new features. The most obvious change is that the SMSc uses a polymer body instead of aluminum.

Shield has also revamped the lens. Now you can get the polymer lens with a special hard quartz coating for durability and scratch resistance. You can also replace the polymer lens entirely with a glass lens.

Like the RMSc, the SMSc is a permanent sight with automatic brightness adjustment. When mounted to your Glock pistol, a sensor measures ambient light and changes the relative brightness of the red dot.

The SMSc can be purchased with either a 4 MOA or an 8 MOA aim point. It comes with the same 7-year/unlimited warranty as the RMSc.

With the quartz-coated polymer lens, the MSRP with VAT for the SMSc is $346.85. A glass lens upgrade will cost an additional $126.13 for a total of $472.98. Coincidentally, it's the same price as the RMSc.

Alternatively, you can try to get one from a US-based retailer. Right now, however, the only retailer that seems to carry them is the Springfield Armory. The company's asking price is $299, but they are sold out with no scheduled restock date.

If you didn't already know, SIG SAUER is now an optics manufacturer. The company makes everything from rangefinders to high-powered oscilloscopes. One of their most recent additions is the Romeo Zero RDS, which fits the Glock 43X and other slim weapons.

The Romeo Zero is made with a polymer body and lens. This lends itself to being light - about 0.4 ounces according to the company's specifications.

Glock 43x Mos Light

For durability, I prefer a 6061 or 7075 aluminum body. However, polymer has proven to be a durable material for gun parts. Likewise, I prefer a glass lens. Polymer, however, is a proven material for optics, so you should be fine with this scope unless you use it too much.

Glock Model 43x Mos 9mm, W/ 2x 10 Round Magazines, Standard Sights

GIS uses a motion activation system to illuminate the red dot. The system seems to work well and I have no problems trusting it.

The dot brightness is manually controlled. With Romeo Zero you get 8 manually adjustable brightness levels. There are two models available: one with a 3 MOA point and a second with a larger 6 MOA point.

One of the highlights of this view is the price: $219. Buying online brings the total cost under $200 with free shipping. This is the cheapest offering on this list by a pretty wide margin.

Reader Mike W. emailed me about Romeo Zero's compatibility with the G43X MOS. He said the mounting screws that come with the scope are too long for the Glock pistol. This mirrors the issue I discovered when trying to mount the Romeo Zero on the Springfield Armory Hellcat.

I'm trying to find a set of replacement screws. It was suggested to me that these M4-0.70x8mm flathead screws are a good replacement, but I haven't confirmed it yet.

If you are using a Romeo Zero on your Glock 43X MOS, can you let us know what mods or alternative screws you had to use?

The Sentinel is tough and built to take a beating. Swampfox machines the body from 7075-T6 aluminum - the same hardened metal used in forged AR undercuts.

Glock 43x Mos Light

For the lens, Swampfox uses an optical glass that has been multi-coated to give resistance to fog, water, mud and scratches.

Best Light For The 43x Mos

Additionally, the Sentinel is the only device on this list with an IP rating: a standardized rating system for measuring water and dust ingress into electronic and other devices.

Sentinel is IPX7 rated. That means it's submersible to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. None of the other optics offer anything close to this.

Swampfox offers RDS in two models: one is fully manual with 10 brightness levels, while the other is a constant version with a continuously adjustable automatic brightness level. I own the fully automatic version and it works as advertised.

The photo sensor samples ambient lighting and almost instantly adjusts the 3 MOA red point. In actual use, I found it to work pretty well.

Glock 43x: Personal Protection Perfection

Swampfox offers a 50,000 spin guarantee on Sentinel. In other words, if you have problems with this for the first 50,000 real photos, they will work fine. If you fire 1,000 rounds a year, the company will support you for the next 50 years. I bet, however, that the company would be willing to intervene in case of manufacturing failures, regardless of the number of laps.

Due to Sentinel's incredible popularity, the sites are selling out quickly. However, they are available at a discount here.
